The Shearwater Hotspring and Jigging Tour

Haisla Tourism offers a tour to the Shearwater Hotspring. The famous Douglas Channel Hotsprings located inside the Pacific Inland Coast British-Columbia, Canada.   These odourless mineral springs are surrounded by natural rock walls, and are guaranteed to soak away your worries and your woes.  The temperature at the source is 54.4 Deg C / 130 Deg F.  With a view of the sea Shearwater Hotsprings is a wonderful place to relax, kick back, and enjoy the soothing mineral waters.

To complete your experience, Haisla Tourism proposes a traditional party of jigging.  Handlining is one of the oldest and most basic forms of fishing.  Many First Nations people near the salmon bearing waters of Canada were known to use handlines while rowing in their canoes.  The fisherman gave his halibut hook a personal name and carved a figure on it. Then addressing the hook, he would said something like, Go down to halibut land and fight! Generally the carved image on the hook endowed it with power to lure the fish.  A cultural interpretative guide shows you how to jig with this traditional equipment.  The sightseeing enroute is spectacular. A lunch with a touch of Haisla tradition will be served.
